February 27-March 1, 2024 Peace Corps Grant Writing Conference in Bishkek.

Our director, Aizat Jumashova, attended this 3-day conference to better understand the opportunities available for projects that incorporate community values, economic growth, and learning resources for people in Toktogul. The conference allowed participants to network and learn from representatives in the tourism industry from all over Kyrgyzstan.

Some of the challenges that Toktogul faces include little interest in becoming a guide or seeing the potential that tourism has in the region, English proficiency, access to horses, and proximity to the lakeshore. These challenges help inform the goals that CBT Toktogul has taken on.
